Apple has rolled out a new update for its Mac iWork for iCloud applications, adding a slew of new features and enhancements across all apps.

The move to update its iWork apps for iCloud, Mac, and iOS follows the launch of Microsoft's Office suite for iOS, aiming to further improve the experience for productivity users.

As 9to5Mac points out, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote for iCloud now sport visual redesigns for their document, spreadsheet, and presentation editors, and boast support for Retina displays as well. Moreover, Apple has also updated all three applications to support the ability to share view-only documents, or open documents directly from iCloud Mail.

Pages for Mac have now gained new templates, improved text wrap, and allow users to edit charts in imported documents, in addition to sporting new copy-paste style improvements, enhanced AppleScript support, and better placement of objects that are inserted and pasted. Numbers for Mac now benefits from enhanced pop-up menu support and has new custom data formats, printing options, and custom table styles, while Keynote for Mac now also allows users to edit charts in imported documents, boasts improved Presenter Display layouts and labels, as well as new transitions and builds and several other features.

Apple has also updated Pages, Numbers, and Keynotes for iOS as well, as users will need the updates to open documents edited in iCloud.

Before this new update, Apple had last updated its iWork suite of apps back in January, across all platforms. At that time, the company added a number of new features to enhance the software, and it also reinstated some functionality that was removed back in September, when the new iWork apps made their debut. The company faced a lot of criticism with its November update and promised to further improve the apps, and now it's making good on its word.

The new Pages, Numbers, and Keynote apps for Mac are now officially available for download from the Mac App store, allowing users to enjoy the slew of new features and improvements right away. For iOS, you can find Pages at this link, Numbers here, and Keynote at this link in the App Store.
