Twitter redesign brings new features, Facebook-like view – Check it out now

Spring cleaning for Twitter users has come in the form of new, redesigned profiles reminiscent of Facebook's layout, aiming to enhance the user experience.

The new Web profiles available now for all Twitter users are the same that rolled out to a select number of users earlier this month. In other words, after the limited release, the new profiles are now ready for the general audience, hitting each and every user.

"Today, the new web profile experience is rolling out to all users around the world," Twitter announced in a company blog post on Tuesday, April 22.

The new design marks a complete overhaul, as it is radically different from Twitter's previous profile design. At the same time, the new profiles bear a striking resemblance to Facebook's Timeline, particularly when it comes to the large photo up top and the biographical information on the left.

The new Twitter also brings "Best Tweets," which is a selection of the tweets that proved most popular. These posts will appear slightly larger than others in order to make it easier to find the best content. Moreover, Twitter users will also be able to pin a favorite tweet to the top of their profile page so that followers can see what they are interested in.

Lastly, the update also brings what Twitter calls "Filter Tweets," a new feature that allows users to select which timeline to view when browsing through other profiles. More specifically, users will be able to select between three options: Tweets, Tweets with photos/ videos, or Tweets and replies.

The new interface rolls out nearly a month after Twitter started teasing its redesign. As previously mentioned, the new look is very similar to rival social network Facebook, but Twitter does have its own share of loyal fans who think it's better. The similarity may or may not be intentional, but the new changes mark notable improvements nonetheless.

"Your Twitter profile shows the world who you are," Twitter further notes. "We look forward to seeing what that means to you!"
