AT&T LG G Vista coming soon, sports improvements over Verizon version – Registrations open now
Alexandra BurlacuThe LG G Vista is ready to end its exclusivity with Verizon Wireless soon, as AT&T has announced that it will start selling the device as well.
In fact, smartphone shoppers who would like to get an LG G Vista from AT&T can now pre-register their interest on AT&T's website and receive more information about the device as soon as it becomes available.
The LG G Vista made its debut as a Verizon-exclusive, but that's about to change very soon. It now turns out that rumors claiming that AT&T will get the handset as well were true, as the LG G Vista has indeed made its way to AT&T's inventory.
The AT&T LG G Vista will pack slightly different specifications compared to Verizon's version of the handset, but the changes are positive. AT&T's model, for instance, sports a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, whereas Verizon's version has a qHD resolution of 960 x 540 pixels.
AT&T will sell the new LG G3 Vista for $49.99 on a two-year service agreement, for $354.99 with no commitment, or with monthly installments through its AT&T Next plas. Moreover, the LG G Vista also joins the LG G2, G3, and G Flex in AT&T's new promotion, which offers the LG G Pad 7.0 for just $0.99 (on-contract) when purchasing a select LG smartphone.
As a reminder, the LG G Vista launched as a cheap version of the flagship LG G3, boasting a larger display but watered-down specifications. The G Vista has a weaker processor and less RAM compared to the original G3. It also comes with a larger 5.7-inch display, but with an HD 720p resolution instead of the stunning QHD panel found on the flagship. Nevertheless, the HD resolution on the AT&T LG G Vista is still better than the qHD one in Verizon's model.
Both the AT&T and the Verizon models of the LG G Vista come with 8-megapixel rear cameras, but AT&T's version also boasts the laser auto-focus technology introduced with the LG G3. Other specs include a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage capacity, microSD support for additional memory of up to 32GB, a 1.3-megapixel front shooter, and a 3,200 mAh battery to keep things up and running. On the software side, the smartphone runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.
AT&T will start selling LG G Vista online and in physical retail locations on Aug. 22, but the carrier is now allowing customers to register their interest in the device. For more information, check out the carrier's announcement at this link.
