Motorola Nexus 6 references spotted on AT&T’s website ahead of official unveiling
Alexandra BurlacuAT&T is apparently dropping hints about the Motorola Nexus 6 just hours before the smartphone's expected debut on Wednesday, Oct. 15.
The next-generation Nexus smartphone from Google is one of the most highly-anticipated devices of this year, and the rumor mill is going into overdrive ahead of the big unveiling.
The Nexus 6 is widely believed to come from Motorola and boast high-end specs and features all around, and the two companies are expected to make the device official on Wednesday, Oct. 15.
Amid lots of rumors, leaks, and speculation, AT&T is now offering its own hints in regards to the upcoming Motorola Nexus 6. It seems that the carrier is gearing up to offer the smartphone as soon as it becomes official, selling it subsidized with a two-year contract. AT&T has never offered a Nexus smartphone directly so far, but it looks like this is about to change.
While AT&T did not specifically announce its plans to launch the Nexus 6, and the smartphone is not actually listed on its website, a few hints here and there make up an intriguing puzzle.
If you visit the LG section of devices on AT&T's website, for instance, you'll notice that the product URL for the LG G Vista has been replaced with a Motorola Nexus 6 URL, Android Police points out. The URL in question redirects to a Motorola devices page, which doesn't actually list the Nexus 6 - at least not yet.
Another reference can be found on the AT&T LG G3 Vigor page, and this one is even less subtle. As you can see in the image above, the "People Also Viewed" list on the LG G3 Vigor page shows a Motorola Nexus 6, with an LG G Vista icon and a Nexus 6 URL. This URL will take you to the same page of Motorola devices as the LG G Vista URL.
These Nexus 6 references on AT&T's website suggest that the smartphone will join the carrier's lineup soon after its official debut. Based on rumors so far, the Nexus 6 is expected to boast a large 5.92-inch display with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, pack 3GB of RAM, and come in 16/32GB internal storage configurations. The handset it also expected to serve as the launch vehicle for Google's latest Android L.
Nothing is official just yet, but the Motorola Nexus 6 is expected to make its debut momentarily. We'll keep you up to date as soon as we hear more, so stay tuned.
