Best Buy and the Future Shop are selling the BlackBerry Passport for $199.99 with a two-year Telus contract in Canada, marking the best deal yet for the device.

The BlackBerry Passport made its debut not too long ago, launching as a business-oriented smartphone with high-end specs and features. AT&T will eventually start selling the handset in the U.S. for a subsidized price, but for now the best deal is across the border.

The BlackBerry Passport is now available in Canada at a subsidized price, when agreeing to sign a two-year service agreement with Telus. More specifically, Best Buy and the Future Shop are selling the Telus-branded version of the BlackBerry Passport for $199.99 in Canada.

As a reminder, the square-ish BlackBerry Passport comes with a 4.5-inch touch-enabled display with an odd resolution of 1440 x 1440 pixels, and sports a QWERTY keyboard. Under the hood, the smartphone packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.26GHz, paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage capacity, complete with microSD support for additional memory.

Other specs include a 13-megapixel rear camera with 1080p video recording capabilities, a 2-megapixel front shooter for selfies and video chats, and a large 3,450 mAh battery to keep things up and running. On the software side, the handset comes with BlackBerry OS 10.3 pre-installed out of the box.

BlackBerry, however, has built only a small number of Passport handsets so as not to make more than it's necessary. This way, BlackBerry won't have too many units on its hands if the demand is not that great. At the same time, this means that the BlackBerry Passport is in somewhat limited supply.

The new deal from the Canadian Best Buy and the Future Shop for the Telus BlackBerry Passport comes as a limited-time deal, as the offer is set to expire next week, on Oct. 30. Interested customers can reserve their handset online and pick it up from a brick and mortar store.

As for the subsidized variant of the BlackBerry Passport in the U.S., AT&T is expected to offer such an option soon, but no exact date is available at this point. The BlackBerry Passport will be an AT&T exclusive in the U.S. and some reports indicated that it may cost $249.99 or $299.99 on-contract when it debuts, but it remains unconfirmed at this point.

Interested buyers in Canada, meanwhile, can now get the Telus BlackBerry Passport for $199.99 until Oct. 30, so head over to Best Buy here or the Future Shop at this link.
