The Nexus 6 may not be as readily available as many would like, but protective cases for the smartphone are nonetheless listed as "coming soon" on Google Play.

High-end smartphones with top-notch specs and features usually come with a price to match, and the Nexus 6 is no exception. To protect their investment, many smartphone buyers prefer to purchase protective cases as well to avoid damaging their handset.

As the Motorola Nexus 6 is getting ready for a wider debut worldwide, accessories for the smartphone are now starting to pop up on Google Play. A couple of cases are now listed as "coming soon," although no exact availability date is mentioned.

One of these newly-added protective accessories is called the Naked Tough Case for the Nexus 6, and is designed as a lightweight, minimalistic case that provides protection without being too obvious. This case features a hard, impact-resistant shell, over the top of a clear bumper designed to protect the handset's corners from accidental drops or bumps.

Because the Nexus 6 also comes with a massive display that puts it in phablet territory, the Naked Tough Case also comes with a kickstand on its rear in order to allow users to prop the smartphone up when watching videos. As the name itself suggests, the case aims to be as invisible as possible, adding very little bulk to the handset (see image above). The other case that popped up on Google Play, also listed as coming soon, is called the Stand Folio Case for Nexus 6. This accessory is bulkier than the other and comes with an all-in-one design that sports microfiber lining, as well as a stand folio that allows users to prop the device up for video watching. The case also has special slots for storing ID and credit cards. Moreover, the front flap of this case is designed to offer additional protection to the display so it would not get scratched.
