Microsoft Surface Pro 3 gets $100 discount, free sleeve in the U.S.
Alexandra BurlacuMicrosoft is currently offering most Surface Pro 3 models for $100 off in the U.S., and is also throwing in a free sleeve.
The Surface Pro 3 is Microsoft's latest and greatest tablet, aiming to replace your laptop. The slate made its debut in 2014 as the company's most advanced Surface to date, and has stirred plenty of interest since its launch due to its top-notch specs and features. High-end products, however, usually come with a price to match, and the Surface Pro 3 is not exactly the cheapest tablet out there. The new price cut should now make it more appealing to prospective customers, but the sale will not last for long.
This new discount is part of a limited-time promotion, and includes only the Surface Pro 3 models with i5 or i7 processors. This means that the entry-level version of the tablet, i.e. the one with an i3 processor and 64GB of internal storage capacity, is not part of the deal and continues to be available for its regular $799 pricing, with no discount.
All other Surface Pro 3 models, meanwhile, are now $100 off. More specifically, the i5 models of the slate in 128GB and 256GB configurations now cost $899 and $1,199, respectively. The variants with an i7 processor in either 256GB or 512GB configurations now cost $1,449 and $1,849, respectively.
As previously mentioned, Microsoft is also throwing in a free sleeve for the Surface Pro 3. The $100 discount is a limited time promotion and is set to expire on Saturday, Feb. 7, reads the fine print on the Surface Pro 3 product page. At the same time, the free sleeve offer will run through April 5. The fine print further reveals that customers interested in this promotional sale are limited to three tablets each.
Customers can take advantage of this Surface Pro 3 sale either through Microsoft's online store, or through select retail outlets across the U.S.
The new price cut, combined with the upcoming Windows 10 upgrade, should significantly boost sales of the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 in the U.S. It remains unclear at this point whether Microsoft plans to offer similar discounts in other markets as well, but we'll keep you posted if we hear more.
