HTC One E9 specs revealed on TENAA: 5.5-inch 1440x2660 display, octa-core processor & more
Alexandra BurlacuA new HTC One E9 smartphone is apparently on the way, as it just surfaced on TENAA with some neat spec details.
Last year, HTC launched its One M8 flagship smartphone, and then released a plastic variant called the One E8, with nearly identical specifications and a lower price tag.
This year, HTC officially unveiled its new One M9 flagship at MWC 2015, and a One E9 variant is expected as well. The smartphone has now surfaced on TENAA, i.e. China's equivalent of the FCC, and the listing also mentions some specifications.
The new HTC One E9 will come as the successor to last year's One E8, but it seems that it will have notably different specs compared to the One E9.
According to the TENAA listing in question, the upcoming HTC One E9 will sport a large 5.5-inch TFT display with a resolution of 1440 x 2660 pixels, marking a significant change from the One E9's 5-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. Under the hood, the One E9 will apparently pack an octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz, but the exact model is unspecified.
The handset will further feature 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage capacity, a microSD card slot for additional memory of up to 128GB, and Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. In terms of size, the HTC One E9 will measure 156.5 x 76.5 x 7.54 mm and tip the scale at 150 grams. The TENAA listing further reveals that the HTC One E9 will come in three color options - black, white, and gold. The listing makes no mention of cameras, but the rear shooter appears to have a larger sensor compared to the One E8's 13-megapixel rear camera.
In terms of design, the One E9 features the same form factor and overall design of its predecessor, and it will likely come with a polycarbonate body as well.
It remains unclear at this point just when the HTC One E9 will make its official debut, but it will likely not become official before the flagship One M9 hits retail. HTC is yet to offer any official details in this regards, but is expected to provide more information shortly. We'll make sure to keep you up to date as soon as more details become available, so stay tuned.
