The Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are officially starting to ship on Monday, April 6, to early buyers who pre-ordered the handsets.

The new-generation Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge already stirred plenty of interest since their official debut in early March back at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015, and their retail release is just around the corner.

The two smartphones are set to go on sale on April 10 in the U.S. and other markets, but pre-order customers may get their devices early from some carriers. T-Mobile was the first U.S. carrier to start shipping the Galaxy S6 Edge to pre-order customers, and Sprint is now ready to follow suit.

In a Twitter post on Friday, April 3, Sprint officially announced that it will start shipping the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge to pre-order customers this Monday, April 6. This means that early buyers on Sprint should have their chosen device starting today, if they haven't received it already.

As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy S6 flagship and the curved-display Galaxy S6 Edge share nearly identical specifications, and both of them come as high-end offerings. In terms of hardware specs, you'll get a 5.1-inch display with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, an octa-core Samsung Exynos 7420 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB of internal storage configurations, a 16-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front shooter. The Galaxy S6 has a 2,550 mAh battery, while the Galaxy S6 Edge has a slightly larger 2,600 mAh unit. Both smartphones come with non-removable batteries and without a microSD slot for additional memory.

When it comes to design, Samsung finally ditched the infamous plastic body and went for something more premium, although the smartphones don't sport a full-metal design like some expected. Instead, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge come with metal frames and glass backs, which still makes them look more premium compared to the company's previous plastic smartphones.

On the software front, both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, as well as the company's own TouchWiz UI, now with less bloatware.
