Purch introduced a new app, the PurchX that helps consumers have easy access to buying information that will help them make wise choices.
PurchX will be out on the market starting July 14 for the iOS platforms, including iPhone 5, iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and more. It is not yet available for android. The app will provide users helpful information about the product like its features, price and other specifications as well as the other similar products in the market.
With this information, the consumer can compare the product with its competitors on the spot, helping them know if the product is the best choice for them or not.
PurchX also has an option to provide reviews on their website. If a user tries to click on a product with other user reviews, they will be directed to the review page.
The new app has a wide variety of products in its list. According to Space.com, a subsidiary of Purch, they have been doing multiple tests on the wide array of products that they have from toiler papers to bed sheets. Additionally, Purch gives freebies and rewards users who leave reviews on their site.
Purch was a reinvention from an existing app, Consumr, which was bought by Purch last March. Users who already have the Consumr app can see a couple of changes like the name and the community function. The app also redesigned the look and feel of the original app.
PurchX already covers a wide selection of product comparison, but just in case the product in the user search is not in their list, the user will be directed to an external source like eBay, Best Buy, Target, Amazon or Walmart.
However, though the app seems promising, TomsHardware notes that PurchX still does not have the "sort of enthusiasts-level products" they have. Though the Tom's Hardware app is not available yet, they said that they are planning to do it "very soon."
