Invites For Microsoft’s Nov. 30 Event In India Now Out; Launching Of Two Units To Be Expected?
Mary Cris BalancioRumors about the Microsoft November 30 event have been confirmed and the company has officially started sending out invitations to the said event. It is likely that Microsoft will use this event to launch their latest Lumia 950 XL and Lumia 950 smartphones in India. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella mentioned during her keynote address in Mumbai that the new models would be available by the end of this year.
Microsoft's invitations show the new Windows 10 mobile design as well as their new Continuum feature. This feature will give the user a full-fledged pc experience once the smartphone is connected to the dock which could be bought as an add-on accessory from Microsoft.
It is well-known that these two smartphones are the first Microsoft smartphones that will run the mobile version of Windows 10 out of the box. They are also expected to have high-end hardware features.
The Lumia 950 XL has a 5.7-inch QHD display with 518 ppi and has a Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It will be running on a 2.0 GHz Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor and will have 3GB RAM with an internal storage of 32GB and can be expanded through a microSD. This device sports a 20MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. It can support dual sim, 4G LTE, with Bluetooth 4.1, USB type C, Wi-Fi and NFC in terms of connectivity options. Lumia 950 XL will be powered by a 3,340 mAh battery and will also have features like wireless charging and fast charging.
Meanwhile the Lumia 950 will have similar specs to Lumia 950 XL but has a slightly smaller display at 5.2-inch QHD display and runs on 1.8 GHz Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor instead. As of the time of writing, there are no official announcements as to how the smartphones will be priced in India. In the US however, Lumia 950 XL comes at 649 USD which can be estimated to about 42,200 INR while Lumia 950 is priced at 549 USD which is about 35,700 INR.
