ZTE Acquires New Domain Name For A Whooping $2 Million USD

ZTE seems to be on an expanding route, especially with its latest course of action. It has been known that ZTE has a sub-brand called Nubia, which has recently launched a high-end smartphone called the ZTE Nubia Z9. The phone was reportedly so chic and popular that within ten minutes of its release it was declared sold out in China.

But what does this expansion have to do with Nubia? The latest news about ZTE is that it had spent about $2 million USD to buy the domain name "nubia.com." It is known that ZTE already has websites that have the domain names "nubia.cn" and "nubia.com.cn," which are currently running for its Nubia brand.

With this latest domain, it seems that the move is another hint of the Chinese tech company's move to expand to the US and other international markets as well. Right now its Nubia Z9, along with several smartphone models, is already available for purchase internationally.

Earlier reports have been buzzing about the Chinese manufacturer's plan to launch its next Nubia model, the ZTE Nubia 11, simultaneously in China and the US this coming year. And with this latest news about its new domain name, it seems like ZTE is gearing up to be more progressive in its fight against its competitors.

The rumored handheld device is said to have a 5.2-inch display with a 1440 x 2560 screen resolution and a 565ppi density. It is said to also have the bezel-less display that the Nubia Z9 model is proud of. The device will be running on a Snapdragon 820 chipset and a quad-core CPU with an Adreno 530 GPU. ZTE Nubia 11 is said to also come with a 4GB RAM and a native storage of 128GB.

The gadget will also sport a 20.7-megapixel rear shooter and a 13-megapixel front-facing shooter. It is also expected to have a fingerprint scanner feature, which could be one of its selling points since there are not a lot of models that have the same feature.
