Final Fantasy, a popular and timeless classic game has not been on PCs for years. However, word has it that Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD has been confirmed for PC and it is releasing this week.

The news comes from a Steam store page stating that the game will be released on May 12.

Square Enix has been constantly releasing a series of RPGs for Final Fantasy. With catching up on decades of gameplay, Square Enix has been working on remasters as well as upgraded ports. The exciting news of what fans have wanted for years is finally coming to PC gaming - Final Fantasy X and sequel Final Fantasy X-2 (official site) have both been spruced up for PC release.

The combination will be called Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD, which is the same as the Remaster collection that was released on PS3, PS4 and Vita in 2015.

Both the original and sequel games have been upgraded, but only with subtle changes. The idea is to release the combined game to feel like the original, with sparks of extra fun here and there.

Look forward to upgrades such as the game being a bit prettier, with better texturing and facial animation. The background music has also been reworked and it generally plays quite well. Enjoy "boosters", high speeds and random encounters, which are a bit of an adaptation to the gameplay.

Steam is releasing this combo game this week however, according to PC Gamer, there is no certainty of whether the forthcoming XV is going to make it to PC at all. If it does, it will probably have limited features when compared to the console game, as PC games are much more restricted with extras.

On the whole, the evolution of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD coming to PC will be a major upgrade for the game, usability and experience for PC-preferred gamers. The game will launch on PC on May 12.
