"The Flash" Season 2 has gone to its finale and it all seems so fast. Those who were not able to catch the latest events on the superhero series may look upon the review below, but this article might contain spoilers so read at own risk.

According to IGN, Season 2 did not quite live up to the impact that Season 1 closer has made. Despite the highlights, they claimed that the end of "'The Race of His Life' was more notable for the groundwork it laid than the way it wrapped up the conflict with Zoom."

Although the website pinpointed some pros and cons (like focusing on Zoom's plan allegedly and his "underwhelming defeat" made the episode predictable), the verdict was positive. Despite the expectation of reaching the "emotional level" was not fully meet, there were some cliffhanger and major twists that are much-awaited on the third season.

Meanwhile, Screen Rant explained the reason behind the cliffhanger scene where Barry Allen went back to his mother. According to the website, Marvel fanatics, especially the comic readers, might already know what will happen in the next season.

"What happens when he returns to the future?" The site said that it could be adapted by Geoff John's "Flashpoint," where The Flash was unaware that the had gone back in time with his alive mother and without superpowers.

They speculated that there could be an alternate plot to the story, because of the show's connection to other series like "Arrow", "Legends of Tomorrow", and "Supergirl." But then, the outcome of the event must be exciting as well, so viewers might want to wait for the Season 3 to arrive.
