Is Samsung Scared? Find Out Reasons Behind Galaxy Note 6 Identity Change To Galaxy Note 7

Dheeraj R

The South Korean smartphone giant, Samsung, recently announced that the company will be launching Galaxy Note 7 version of notebooks instead of the Galaxy Note 6. There are reports that Samsung has just opted to change the name of its sixth-generation Galaxy Note device from Galaxy Note 6 to Galaxy Note 7. The only reason that the company is planning for the major shift in the name is to be at par with other Samsung devices like Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.

But, few reports are trolling Samsung for their decision of changing the name of the new Galaxy Note version, claimed GMS Arena. It is reported that Samsung might be scared as to whether its products will be able to beat the competition from Apple or not. There are reports that Apple would be launching their new devices like iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in a few months' time. These new smartphones are rumored to affect other company's products market share, including that of Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Note 6 version.

But many analysts have reported that the success of any product, whether it's from Apple or Samsung, would depend on its offerings i.e. the specs, features, and prices.

Meanwhile, BGR reported some other reasons why the South Korean company is planning to change the name of Galaxy Note 6 to Galaxy Note 7. It is reported that the company wants to eliminate any inconsistency situation that would arise when the number of the Samsung's two products were different, i.e. Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy Note 6.

Further, a top-ranked official from Samsung revealed that the different model numbers of the devices might send out a signal to the customers that the new device is actually an outdated one, reported Venture Beat. The official also claimed that Samsung is trying to cut out on any marketing issue that might be faced by Galaxy Note 6 by replacing its name with Galaxy Note 7 and thus, raise the marketing options of the much-anticipated device.

With all the trending name change news, PC Advisor reported that the upcoming Galaxy Note 7 will feature dual-curved-edge Super AMOLED display. Earlier there were speculations that the Galaxy Note 6 would consist of a 5.8-inch screen with 1440 by 2560 resolution. It is also reported that the new device from Samsung will consist of Snapdragon 820 processor with 4200 mAh battery.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 6, which would now be called as Samsung Galaxy Note 7, is expected to release in August 2016.
