The Taiwanese hardware manufacturer, Asus, recently unveiled its new laptop, Zenbook 3, during the ongoing Computex event. The reports suggest that the company boldly compared its ultrabook with the US's largest technology giant, Apple's products, MacBook and MacBook Air range. During the launch event, Asus's representatives even mentioned that the new Zenbook 3 is lighter, thinner and more powerful as compared to the MacBook series of laptops.
First Post reported that Asus has launched a replica device similar in design and specifications as that of the Apple's notebooks. The newly launched Asus Zenbook 3 is reported to consist of Intel core i7 processor for great performance levels and a fingerprint reader for added security.
Further, the unveiled Zenbook 3 features 12.5-inch screens with Ultra HD display and 4 GB RAM. This specification is reported to be for the base model. NDTV reported that the new device from Asus also consists of shiny gold metal plates around the edges. The ultrabook is also said to feature Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for durability and Harman Kardon speakers.
Besides, there are reports that the new Asus Zenbook 3 consists of a USB Type-C port with 11.9 mm chassis. EN Gadget reported that the ultrabook would be made available in three colors i.e. Royal Blue, Quartz Grey and Rose Gold.
Meanwhile, the reports state that the new Ultrabook features full-size backlit keyboard along with a glass-covered touchpad. It is testified that the touchpad has been designed to provide support for smart gestures and handwriting. Also, there are reports that the new Asus Zenbook 3 has up to 9 hours of battery life.
In addition to all the comparison with the Apple's MacBook, there are reports that the new Asus Zenbook 3 is also expected to give tough competition to Dell's XPS 13 and Razor Blade Stealth devices. Giz Mag reported that part from Zenbook 3, Asus also rolled out few other devices like Transformer 3 Pro and Transformer 3.
The new Asus Zenbook 3 has been priced for $1999 for the 16GB RAM variant. There are no details as to when the recently launched Zenbook 3 model will be made available to the customers.
