The recently launched Sony smartphone, Xperia X, is reported to be a huge mistake from the Japan-based company. The latest Sony device lacks many specs and features and is being considered as a total failed attempt from the company.

Mobile Choice reported that Sony is trying to sell a smartphone which is a mix of the old and new features' as compared to the company's other devices. The smartphone is said to be not up to the mark when it comes to the design factors. It is reported that the Xperia X design is not water resistant

Moreover, the new smartphone from Sony also lacks a fingerprint sensor. This lacuna is being considered as one of the greatest mistakes from the company's side as currently every other smartphone is being launched with the fingerprint sensor facility. So, the absence of such in-demand specification is reported to give Sony's revenue generated from the smartphones sales a major setback.

The Xperia X also has a pathetic camera quality with poor HDR performance. Despite having 23-megapixels rear camera and 13-megapixels front-facing camera, the device is stated to lack many trending camera features like optical image stabilization, autofocus, etc.

The smartphone sports Snapdragon 650 processor with 3 GB RAM. The device features a 5-inch LCD display with 1080 pixels resolution and dual front-facing speakers. Also, the Xperia X is reported to be powered by Android 6.0.1 Marshmellow and its pre-installed customization features.

The Sony smartphone features only 2620 mAh battery. Here, the combination of Android Marshmellow's Doze mode, 1080p screen, and some Sony's optimization features is considered to do the trick of longer battery life, reported The Quint. The smartphone is reported to provide 5-6 hours of screen time over the course of 15-16 hours' duration at a go.

With all the shortage of specs and features especially the fingerprint reader functionality, many reports have claimed that the $550 price of the Sony Xperia X is again a serious miscalculation from the company's side.

The Sony Xperia X is slated to be made available on June 26, 2016, and is currently available on Amazon for pre-order. But, reports suggest that the smartphone would not witness the desired sales because of its missing features and comparatively high price.
