Dr. Angela Ziegler is a brilliant scientist and a an advocate for peace. She was given the chance to work for Overwatch because of her breakthrough nanobiology research. Initially opposing the organization because of its militaristic approach to peacekeeping, Angela agreed and became head of medical research for Overwatch.

Angela came up with the Valkyrie swift-response suit, which she herself uses on many Overwatch missions.

Even after the fall of Overwatch, Angela, now known as Mercy, continues to look out for those who are affected by war.

Abilities

Caduceus Staff - Mercy's main weapon in the game. Left click heals her allies while right click boosts their damage output

Caduceus Blaster - Mercy's sidearm, reserved for emergency personal defense

Guardian Angel - allows Mercy to fly towards an ally to provide healing or damage boost in crucial moments

Angelic Descent - this ability slows Mercy's descent from high places

Resurrect - as the name implies, Mercy's ultimate ability brings dead allies back into the game with full health

Mercy Tips and Strategies

- Mercy is a full support hero, and is best played by tailing your fellow teammates and healing and buffing them with your staff.

- Mercy has passive ability of self heal after not taking damage, so when her HP is low, get out of the firing zone immediately to heal up first.

- While playing as Mercy, it is better to have the toggle beam connection set to ON so you don't have to hold the buttons for healing and buffs. You can cancel by drawing your blaster.

- Realistically, you can't follow all of your teammates at the same time unless they all clump together, so you must know who needs your assistance the most.

- Amp up a teammate's ultimate with your damage booster for maximum effect. The key is knowing when to switch back to healing beams as the heroes are most likely vulnerable to attacks during ult casting.

- Use Guardian Angel to switch quickly between allies. Mercy has to move around constantly to keep everyone healthy. The ability can also be used as escape tactics whenever Mercy is targeted by the enemies (and that would be most of the time.)

- As with healing and buffs, you must know when to use the Resurrect ult ability. Instead of using your ult everytime someone dies, you need to determine how fast an ally can get back into the game. Resurrecting an ally who gets killed a few seconds after is a total waste.
