With the NBA free agency 2016 event around the corner, trade rumors involving Kevin Durant are trending all over the Internet. According to the latest update provided by New York Knicks power forward player Carmelo Anthony, the meeting between the team and Durant has already taken place.

Even though Anthony has claimed that the meeting is done, it is stated to be an unofficial one. SB Nation reported that the New York Knicks is also not on his list of teams with whom he would probably meet soon. Still, the Knicks have not given up hope on being able to lure the star player into their team.

The 32-year-old player told ESPN that the official meeting with Durant is unnecessary as he has been talking with him about the possible deal scenarios and would recruit him during the upcoming NBA event.

Furthermore, it is rumored that even Kevin Durant might think of joining the New York Knicks as they recently acquired Derrick Rose. "Obviously, they have a good team now with D-Rose and Melo and Porzingis, so I will talk to my team and we will figure things out," he said, as reported by Sports Illustrated.

Teaming up with Rose, Anthony, and Kristaps Porzingis would give Durant an overall advantage of winning more number of matches for the team.

On the other hand, the other team who have not given up on wooing in Durant are the Los Angeles Lakers. Chat Sports reported that the Lakers intend to contact Kevin and his representatives on July 1 directly to set up a meeting, according to ESPN's Chris Broussard.

Meanwhile, the other teams with whom Durant has officially set up a meeting are the Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, and Boston Celtics.
