The release date of the Nintendo NX is rumored to have been postponed until March 2017. It is also reported that the new gaming console will sport many exceptional specs compared to other platforms.

To begin with, Gaming Bolt reported that the console might not be released in August at Gamescom. It has been pointed out that an official Nintendo NX launch will not be on the company's agenda next month as it cannot be done from a very small booth space.

In addition, Nintendo representative Shigeru Miyamoto said that the company had earlier planned to launch the Nintendo NX platform at the recent E3 Gaming event last month. However, the release date was postponed because the officials feared that the console design might be copied by their competitors, reported Slash Gear. 

It is reported that company officials have postponed the Nintendo NX release date in order to further equip it with new features. This is because Nintendo's latest innovations including Wii U console are currently facing a tough competition from Microsoft's Xbox One and Sony's PlayStation 4.

Digi Times reported that one of the main reasons behind the delay in the Nintendo console's release date is due to the development of the virtual-reality headset. Reports teased that the Japanese manufacturing company's new gaming platform will also feature AMD's newly developed enhanced Polaris GPU.

Apart from the above-mentioned specs, the Nintendo NX will also sport a new controller, reported Alphr. Rumors hinted that the new console equipped with the controller, VR headset, and Polaris GPU will help the company to revive its position in the market and thus, increase its share.  

Meanwhile, the upcoming gaming platform from Nintendo is rumored to be priced high compared to Wii U console because of the addition of new specs. However, Nintendo NX will be priced cheaper compared to the upcoming new consoles from Sony and Microsoft, namely the PlayStation 4 Neo and the Xbox Project Scorpio.
