The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and the Apple MacBook Pro 2016 are expected to be among the best laptops this year considering all the rumored specs. Even though both the devices will have notable features, it is expected that they will attract a different set of customers.

To start with, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is rumored to be almost similar to its predecessors in terms of its design, build and keyboard base. Meanwhile, Mobi Picker reported that the MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to feature exceptional changes to its design including the Touch ID, fingerprint scanner, and butterfly keys equipped keyboard. It will also likely have a lighter and slimmer body as compared to its predecessors.

According to the latest rumors, the upcoming Microsoft device will consist of new Intel Kaby Lake chip processor along with the latest version of Windows 10 Redstone 2 operating system. TCC reported that the MacBook Pro 2016 will sport the latest Skylake processors with NFC chip technology and OLED display of 2304x1440 resolutions.

One of the best additions to the Surface Pro 5 is rumored to be the Surface Pen, which will provide wireless charging functionality, reported PC Advisor. The Surface Pro 5 will also sport two screen resolutions, 2K and 4K with USB Type-C port.

On the other hand, WCCF Tech reported that the MacBook Pro will have high-quality graphics, which is expected to provide better gameplay. It is also expected to feature cellular connectivity and 5K video technology.

Meanwhile, the release date rumors for the upcoming laptops hinted that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will most likely be released in 2017, whereas the MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to be launched by the end of this year.

As far as prices are concerned, the base Surface Pro 5 is rumored to be cheaper than the Apple device. Reports claimed that it will be priced like its predecessors ranging from $900 to $2000 depending on the specifications. On the other hand, the MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to be priced for $1,099 for the 13-inch version, $1,119 for the Retina 13-inch version, and $2,099 for the Retina 15-inch version.
