'Homefront: The Revolution' Playable on Android But Not For Mobile Gamers
Carlo de Lacy"Homefront: The Revolution" is NVIDIA's latest entry to its Shield library of games. Players can now stream the game in full glorious HD in 1080p and buttery-smooth 60 frames per second.
Android gaming news site Phandroid reported that the first person shooter was finally added in NVIDIA's AAA games library along with the newly added games like "Witcher: The Wild Hunt," "Tomb Raider," and "Borderlands."
Shield's GeForce Now could easily be dubbed as "Netflix of Gaming" for all the good reasons. This is where "Homefront: The Revolution" was recently added. It is available on Android TV, Portable and Tablet formats.
The good thing about the recent addition is the included Steam digital key for PC download. This is a great deal for players who has the internet speed, NVIDIA's shield and at least, an up-to-date midrange gaming PC.
With all these said, it is clear that "Homefront: The Revolution" isn't available for playing on NVIDIA Shield on its own. The closest thing to playing it locally would be by local streaming through NVIDIA's GameStream.
Reasons for Getting The Game
There are two reasons to consider playing "Homefront: The Revolution" and other titles this way. One is having access to a decent and consistent Internet connection with any of NVIDIA Shield's device. The other would be for PC gamers who want to play their PC games virtually anywhere around their homes.
GeForce now has a 3-month free trial before the $7.99 monthly subscription fee, while NVIDIA Shield's price goes around $200. This is a nice alternative if building a $300 midrange gaming PC or buying current-gen consoles like PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is out of the question.
About The Game
"Homefront: The Revolution" is a first person open-world game that puts players on Ethan Brady's shoes. It is a fictional story where North Korea and its Korean People's Army (KPA) got to be the most influencial bodies on Earth, both in technology and warfare.
The player progresses through the game by slowly building a resistance, enough to oust Korean forces from Philadelphia.
The game was released for North America on both Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Windows, Linux, and OS X last May.
