'Mojo': Best Cydia Alternative For 9.3.1 Jailbreak And Up; Get iOS Features Without Actually Jailbreaking

It could really be disheartening to those who rely on jailbreaking their iOS device that the time needed to successfully jailbreak a firmware version gets longer and longer. For those who are stuck at version 9.3.1 who can't even downgrade anymore may find solace in the "Mojo" solution.

For those who haven't heard what Mojo is, it is an app-based installe much like Cydia from getting a jailbreak. It functions basically the same, but with a twist: no jailbreak is needed.

With this, users will be able to download and install apps like screen records, emulators and other nifty stuff that are only available on Cydias repositories.

Mojo has been around now for quite a while, and this could be perfect for those who have regularly used Cydia that relied on having a jailbroken device.

The core difference between Mojo and Cydia, aside from the jailbreak requirement, is the apps that users can get from them. Cydia has apps and tweaks, while Mojo mainly showcases apps only. There's a different method for getting Cydia-like tweaking with "Extensify."

Installing the app can get a bit confusing,so here a quick step-by-step guide on how to easily install Mojo on an iOS device;

  1. Using any browser, go to mojoapp.xyz.

  2. Follow the on-screen instructions and hit Install Mojo.

  3. Hit Build Custom Profile on the next screen.

  4. Users will be automatically brought to the Settings page and then on the Install Profile page. Just hit Install. It will show that the installer is Signed. Entering the password may be needed if there is one set up.

  5. The device will bring the user to the browser once more, but they need to hit Install Mojo once more. This part gets confusing because of having to hit this button twice, but this is actually the way to do it.

  6. This time around, the app will show up as Not Signed. Follow the same process in step 3. Entering the passcode may be necessary again.

  7. A message prompt will appear, informing the user that the app is not signed, tap Install to continue.

  8. Another Install button will be needed to be tapped to finalize these series of tapping the install buttons.

  9. Once all these steps are done, the Mojo icon will finally be added on the Home screen.

  10. Launching the app will let users add repos. From here, users can also install apps that are available on the repos added.

Some of these apps may require adding certificates, so be sure to go to Settings>General>Profile and Trust these certs individually.
