C. de Lacy

Worried about the force 9.3.4 update that will ruin your jailbreak functions? Foruntely, there's an effective way to prevent this and make sure that your jailbroken iOS 9.3.3 device will stay intact.

Apple works extra hard in always bring its users the latest update on their iDevices, be that iPhone, iPad or iTouch. This isn't exactly the best thing, however, for those who would like to keep using their jailbreak features.

To make sure that this doesn't happen, there's a cydia tweak called "mikoto" and it does the deed perfectly. The tweak prevents the device from automatically downloading the OTA update file for iOS 9.3.4 when on Wi-Fi and on-charge.

To download the tweak, launch the Cydia app first from the home screen and go to Sources Tab > Edit > Add. This will allow users to add a new repo and this is where you'll need to add the following link:

Once the packages had been loaded, go back to Cydia's search and type in "mikoto" and install it. Simply follow the prompts just as you would with any other tweaks for Cydia.

After the installation is done, simply resrping by tapping "Restart Springboard" once prompted.

Aside from disabling the automatic OTA update, mikoto also does a number of other things that may be beneficial for your iPhone as shown in this image.

To set the automatic OTA update, simply go to Settings.app > mikoto > Settings. This is where the controls can be toggled. Look for the "Software Update Disabler" and make sure it is enabled with the green switch indicated on the right hand side of the item.

This way, there will be no way that your iPhone will download the OTA update for iOS 9.3.4. Unless there will be a new jailbreak tool for 9.3.4 or better yet, iOS 10, it would be wise to keep the updates at bay with mikoto.
