'Red Dead Redemption 2' To Be PS4 Neo Exclusive? Getting Facts Straightened Out

C. de Lacy

E3 and Gamescom 2016 are all over with no single clue about "Red Dead Redemption 2." One strong rumor indicates that the game may actually be revealed with PS4 Neo's announcement. Will it be a PS4 Neo Exclusive? Let's check the facts.

It is not surprising that Rockstar Games and Take-Two was extremely quiet about the game's development, though they did assure fans that the RDR will be a regular franchise that is far from dying just yet.

Rumors about it being revealed in the upcoming PS4 Neo announcement is still looming for a number of reasons and one being that fans have no real choice in the matter. It is the only event coming up and "Red Dead Redemption 2" is very unlikely to be revealed at Tokyo Game Show (TGS.)

On top of these undying rumors, some even speculate that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be PlayStation 4 Neo exclusive. This, however, is extremely unlikely and there are solid facts to prove this from being a baseless speculation.

Sony was very firm and clear about its instructions regarding the exclusivity of games for the PlayStation 4 Neo. As we've covered a few days ago, Sony did state that there should never be ANY PlayStation 4 Neo exclusive game nor there will be any exclusive features.

The very least thing as far as "exclusivity" can go would be a timed exclusive for a launch title. Pretty much the same case with "Rise of The Tomb Raider."

It will somewhat sell the machine, but it will not make any sense making it exclusive with a technically same machine with an extra 4K capability and Virtual Reality.

More importantly, "Red Dead Redemption 2" leaves its fans in the dark as there's still no concrete clue to its reveal, let alone, its development progress so far.

Still, with a very strong cult following, "Red Dead Redemption 2" rumors still stay alive up to this day. Even without any word from the ever-so-quiet developers and publishers.
