Good news awaits all "Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2" players. Game developer PopCap Games just released the game's next free content update dubbed "Trial of Gnomus."

It is said that the free "Trial of Gnomus" update will apparently host brand new content that will completely revamp the whole "Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2" experience.

The new content includes new game modes, one of a kind weekly events with new loot to win, a baffling gnome merchant with an inventory of rare goods and a confounding new gnome underworld for players to explore.

It also introduces a magic gateway, the Mystery Portal, which was built by gnomes to test the abilities of the plants and zombies, New Game Network has learned. Players can go through the Mystery Portal to play three all-new limited time game modes and procure Rainbow Stars to unlock the Gnome Underworld, as well as the Rainbow Chests.

Players can also take part in a series of challenging gnome trials, called the Trials of Eternity, which will test their velocity, shooting, puzzle solving and memory skills. By completing the Trials of Eternity, players can now unlock new rewards from the legendary customization items.

The three new game modes are Cats vs. Dinos, Boss Hunt, and Super Mix Mode. In addition to that, the "Trials of Gnomus" also adds new limited-time card packs that permit players to access interesting merchandise from Infinity Time.

Developed by PopCap Games, "Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2" is set after the events of "Garden Warfare," according to Plants vs. Zombies Wiki. Now, for the first time in the series, the plants are on the assault and it is the zombies' turn to protect their newly claimed homeland.

"Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2" was released worldwide last Feb. 25 for PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, and Xbox One.
