Owing to the Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard Iman Shumpert's arrest for driving under the influence recently, the latest NBA trade rumors hinted that the Cavaliers might trade him for the Philadelphia 76ers' Nerlens Noel. Reports claimed that the team wants the trade so as to give a tough competition to other teams in the league.

Sports Rageous reported that the Cavaliers will suspend Shumpert from the NBA league because of his involvement in the marijuana controversy. This has paved the way for the trade rumors that the team's management will send Shumpert to other teams like the Philadelphia 76ers or Minnesota Timberwolves.

Reports claimed that Shumpert's chances of going to the 76ers are very high as the Cavaliers are considering Nerlens Noel to be the best trade option to improve their roster. Apart from Shumpert, the Cavaliers are also expected to give up Mo Williams and few future Drafts picks in exchange for the 76ers 22-year-old player.

It is reported that Noel will provide the Cavaliers with the needed interior defense and capability of shot blocking. On the other hand, even the 76ers are stated to be looking forward to adding Shumpert for his on-court offensive and defensive skills.

Apart from 76ers Noel, Morning News USA reported that the Cleveland Cavaliers team is also eyeing Minnesota Timberwolves Ricky Rubio in exchange for Shumpert. Reports claimed that the Cavaliers are in need of a point guard and Rubio is considered to be the best option.

The trade rumors suggested that Rubio will be teamed up with Cavaliers star players Kyrie Irving and LeBron James to form a powerful trio, which will help the team to maintain its NBA champion status.

Should the Rubio-Shumpert trade become a reality, it is expected that Rubio will provide the Cavaliers with excellent offensive skills. He is said to have an average of 10.1 points on top of 8.6 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game last season, which is rumored to help the team to put up major points on the scoreboard in the upcoming NBA season.

However, nothing has been officially confirmed from any of the teams mentioned above. Keep posted here for more NBA trade rumors and updates.
