'Resident Evil 2 Remake' Inspires Spiritual Successor, Fan Game 'Daymare 1998'

The team behind the 2015 beautifully fan-made remake for "Resident Evil 2" revealed a new game of their own, which is heavily inspired from the 90s and not surprisingly, "Resident Evil 2."

While the development of the "Resident Evil 2" remake was put to a halt by Capcom itself, it was never a bad ending on either ends as the fans actually got a better offering and a longer-term goal for an actual "Resident Evil 2" remake.

Unfortunately, fans haven't heard anything official from Capcom yet regarding the development progress of the said remake, especially with the company's focus on the upcoming "Resident Evil 7."

PC Gamer recently reported that Invader Studios, the same indie company that attempted to relive Resi 2, is now working on their own game, though it still takes it cues from what could have been, an awesome "Resident Evil 2" remake.

Called "Daymare: 1998," the game is similar to the classic "Resident Evil" settings where survival is extremely hard to maintain. Just the same with the former project, the game is also being powered by Unreal Engine 4 and will be getting artistic inputs from Satoshi Nakai of Capcom as well.

The game is expected to be getting those 90s horror movie vibes with matching atmosphere that bring players in a nice throwback of an experience.

Invader Studios Facebook page hosts all the the updates in the game currently in development and as of the moment, the team haven't provided any release date window, neither did they disclose platforms where it will be released for.

Those who would like to support the team with its project can go over to their Facebook page and follow them on Twitter as well.
