MacBook Air Specs, Release Date Rumors Round-Up: What We Know So Far

The upgraded version of the MacBook Air is expected to be launched soon with some radical changes onboard like the Retina display, Apple Pencil, and much more. This report is intended to provide you with an overview of the rumored specs and features of the Apple laptop.

Forbes reported that the MacBook Air might be unveiled next month based on the statement made by the director at IHS Markit Technology, Rhoda Alexander. She stated that the production of the upcoming 13.3-inch MacBook Air has begun.

Alexander also teased that the MacBook Air will be launched with the Intel Skylake processor. Earlier, it was rumored that the device might be powered by the Kaby Lake processor, but the new set of processor is expected to arrive by the end of this year and not before that. Should the release date of the Apple device is postponed to March 2017, there are high chances that the device will sport the Kaby Lake chipset, which will further enhance the device performance.

Apart from the release date rumors, MIC reported that the MacBook Air will sport a sleeker chassis along with a flat keyboard surface. Reports claimed that the Apple device will consist of apparently the new batteries, and cooling modules. It is also rumored to be launched with Retina display and the fingerprint sensor imbibed into the Home button

Furthermore, the Apple MacBook is rumored to be introduced with the personal digital assistant Siri. Also, Mac World reported that the MacBook Air will also feature the Apple Pencil-enabled Mac trackpads with different modes like an air mouse mode, a rotational controller mode, a joystick mode, and inertial sensor input modes.  

Besides, the upcoming MacBook Air is rumored to sport the USB Type-C port integrated with Thunderbolt 3 to provide the users with faster data transfers and charging.
