After Daniel Craig became the latest James Bond, "The Girl on the Train" actor Luke Evans is prepared to take over the iconic role. In a recent interview, the 37-year-old actor admitted that he would seize the chance to play the iconic spy next.

"Yeah, I think it's a great role," Evans told Yahoo when asked about the prospect of playing James Bond. "What Daniel Craig has done with that role in the, however, many years he's been playing it, is incredible."

The "Dracula Untold" actor goes ahead to say that playing James Bond is probably one of the most attractive roles in a franchise for a male actor of his age right now. He stressed, "So yeah, I'd be a fool to say no I don't want to play it."

Apart from Luke Evans, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Aidan Turner has all been reported to be in contention to be the next James Bond actor. However, executive producer Callum McDougall stated Daniel Craig was totally the first choice.

"We would love Daniel to return as Bond," executive producer Callum McDougall told BBC's Radio 4's Today program. "Without any question, he is absolutely Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson's first choice and I know they are hoping for him to come back."

It comes after it was reported that the 48-year-old English actor has turned down £68 million ($84,554,600) to take on two more "James Bond" films. It is said that Daniel Craig is already done with his role as James Bond.

Craig first made clamor on the web in October 2015 after he stated he would rather "break this glass and slash my wrists" than reprise the legendary British character, E! News reported. At the time, the actor stressed, "I'm over it at the moment. We're done. All I want to do is move on."
