THQ Nordic has confirmed that the release date for its upcoming remastered title "Darksiders: Warmastered Edition"has been bumped to November.

According to Eurogamer, Austria-based company Nordic Games, now rebranded as THQ Nordic, has announced that "Darksiders: Warmastered Edition" will no longer be launched on its original Oct. 25 release date.

The Playstation 4, Xbox One and Wii U ports of the "Darksiders" remaster will now be released on Nov. 22, while the PC version will come out a week after its console counterparts, on Nov. 29.

THQ Nordic has also announced that the Nov. 22 Wii U release for "Darksiders: Warmastered Edition" will be digital-only, downloadable via Wii U eShop, while the physical version will be released "at a later date," Nintendo Life reported.

This confirms the speculation that this site has reported last week, with popular online retailers Gamestop and Amazon already bearing the new Nov. 22 release date prior to THQ Nordic's announcement.

Another notable thing about THQ Nordic's announcement, however, is the apparent tease for the highly anticipated sequel "Darksiders 3,"

According to Gematsu, THQ Nordic dropped a cheeky hint on its press release which pertains to the much awaited numbered sequel for "Darksiders". ""Finally they made it into one headline together: 'Darksiders' and '3'. THQ Nordic changes release dates for three games, including 'Darksiders: Warmastered Edition'," the statement read.

The publisher did express its interest in making another full-blown "Darksiders" title. Posting on the Steam Community forums, THQ Nordic's executive producer Reinhard Pollice said that the remasters are just the beginning of reviving the much loved hack n' slash action RPG franchise.

"Since we acquired the franchise we were looking for options for doing a DS3," Pollice said. "The remaster was just a way to get some spotlight on the franchise again, reactivate the community and have a better starting position for DS3."

In an interview with GamingBolt last month, however, Pollice said that while the team appreciates the fans' excitement about the title, there is nothing to talk about "Darksiders 3" at the moment.
