Playground Games is in hot water right now for handing out bans to hundreds of "Forza Horizon 3" PC players for no reason at all.

A few days ago, the developer has announced that it will be enforcing a strict rule against players who are caught cheating in the game. However, Playground ended banning players who have not done anything wrong.

Angry "Forza Horizon 3" players took to Reddit to air their frustrations about the ban. Twitch user sugar_free_nos was streaming his game when he received the ban.

"In the span of 5 min I went from playing online with a friend of mine, to banned, with absolutely no change in what I was doing." the streamer posted on Reddit.

The streamer pointed out that he had no idea why he was banned, explaining that the only other applications open on his PC at the time of the stream were Steam, Chatty, the Streamlabs Dashboard, Teamspeak 3, Open Broadcaster Software, and Task Manager.

"I was banned last week from the auction house/store front. I hadn't really played since," Redditor BanginBanana said. "I log on today, and I'm banned from all online features. Probably because of MSI Afterburner or Sidebar Diagnostics since I've never abused any glitch, made liveries, etc etc."

The bans were handed out following Playground's announcement about placing anti-cheat measures in "Forza Horizon 3".

"Our monitoring systems are built to detect cheating and are actively targeting programs such as the 'Forza Horizon 3 trainer,'" the developer said. "Players who are caught using these programs while playing 'Forza Horizon 3' will be subject to a non-reversible permanent ban from online play in the game."

Sugar_free_nos' ban was eventually lifted, according to his follow-up comment on the Reddit page, but he said that he still has no idea why he was banned.

Players who were wrongfully banned in "Forza Horizon 3" may send an email of appeal to Playground Games at forzafb@microsoft.com, citing their Xbox Live Gamertag.
