'Assassin's Creed Awakening': Japanese Manga' Western Adaptation To Be Released In November
J RoseBritish publishing company Titan Comics has given fans a sneak peek into the upcoming Western adaptation of Japanese manga "Assassin's Creed Awakening."
Initially released in August, 2013, the manga known as "Asashin Kurido 4: Burakku Furaggu - Kakusei" in Japan is an adaptation of the franchise's fourth title, "Assassin's Creed Black Flag." It was illustrated by Kenji Oiwa ("Welcome to the N.H.K", "Tsukumo Happy Soul") and written by Takashi Yano ("Naruto" Shinden novel series).
The manga follows the exploit of assassin Edward Kenway, with a few differences from the video game version.
The manga was first translated into French in 2014, under the title, "Assassin's Creed: Awakening."
Ahead of its November release, Titan Comics has released a few panels of its Western adaptation of the Japanese manga, as well as four different illustrations on its comic book covers. The covers, two of which were illustrated by Oiwa, captures the charm of the young and cocky pirate captain the fans love. Check out the preview via Comics Alliance.
Titan Comics has published a lot of "Assassin's Creed" comics in the past: "Assassin's Creed: Assassins," Assassin's Creed: Templars" and "Assassin's Creed: Last Descendants: Locus."
Apart from the comics, "Assassin's Creed" have a lot to look forward to, despite not having a main "Assassin's Creed" game release this year.
Ubisoft will be releasing "Assassin's Creed: Ezio Collection," a remastered collection of all "Assassin's Creed" games featuring the one of the series' most popular lead characters, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, on Nov. 15.
The much awaited movie adaptation of the beloved franchise is also set to be released before the year ends. "X-Men: First Class" actor Michael Fassbender will be taking the role of Callum Lynch and his assassin ancestor Aguilar in the movie, and will be joined by other top notch actors such as Marion Cottilard as Sophia Rikkin and Jeremy Irons as Abstergo CEO Alan Rikkin.
The "Assassin's Creed" movie will have its theatrical release on Dec. 21.
