With the new watchOS 3, Apple brought a number of new features and improvements to the Apple Watch like the ability to unlock your Mac with your watch and an improved app loading time.

Now, the question is: what can we expect about the watchOS 4?

As per the known tradition of Apple, iPhones are generally released in September, while the Apple Watch gets refreshed in April.

The annual WWDC event is in June, we can also expect the announcement of watchOS 4 alongside iOS and macOS.

First, the developers will be able to download the software before it's released to the general public a few months later.

It is reported that Apple is developing a sleep tracking app based on the assumption that the Apple Watch Series 2 was unveiled at its Sep. 2016.

However, there was a glitch. The Apple Watch battery life is not as great and many owners opt to charge the Watch at night, which will derail Apple' intention to track the sleep. Fortunately, the Apple Watch gets charges fast, so owners can have it before going to bed.

There are a lot of new expectations from the new watchOS 4. The first among them is the custom watch face. Currently we've only got the option to select a few stock watch faces from Apple. Android wear offers custom watch face, so we expect Apple to at least give registered developers the ability to create their own watch faces and make them available to the public.

The second on the list is Digital Crown button, found on the side of the Apple Watch. It would provide extra functionality like pressing the button could directly send you to the clock screen or open a certain app. It would be a healthy addition to the Apple Watch if we get a change from its default action.

Apple watch owners also carve for more apps on the Watch. We would hope to see developers create more Apple Watch-centred applications.

For example, the News app or Notes to be compatible with the Apple Watch, it would be a great start.

The last on the wish-list include the ability of Apple Watch to get paired with multiple devices at the same time like with iPad and iPhone.

Stay tuned for more updates on WatchOS 4.
