'WWE 2K17': 2K Games Receives Criticism Over Goldberg Pack DLC

2K Games is facing criticism from fans over the release of the Goldberg Pack pre-order bonus DLC for "WWE 2K17" as a paid DLC.

Players who have ordered "WWE 2K17" ahead of time has received the playable character Goldberg as an incentive, as well as two iconic arenas associated with the WWE superstar: WCW Halloween Havoc and WCW Monday Nitro.

However, at the beginning of the month, 2K Games announced on the official "WWE 2K17" Twitter page that the supposedly exclusive DLC will now be offered for purchase for the rest of the players later next week.

Disappointed players responded to the Twitter announcement, with some saying that those who have pre-ordered the game felt like they have been cheated. "There's no point in pr- ordering your game if all you're gonna do is sell the Pre Order DLC a month late," one Twitter user commented.

"So much for pre order exclusivity," another disappointed "WWE 2K17" player commented. "Sell him eventually but its been what? A month? If that."

Other players have contested the $4.99 price tag for the Goldberg Pack DLC, saying that the price is too steep for a single playable character.

Despite the criticism, however, 2K Games has defended its actions, stating that it is fair to release Goldberg at this time. "Pre-orderers get it for free while others have to pay and wait a month. Seems like a good point," the "WWE 2K17" page responded to a fan.

2K Games is probably capitalizing on WWE Superstar Goldberg's return to the ring, as he is set to face off against Brock Lesnar at this year's Survivor Series.

The pair is expected to compensate for their previously lackluster performance at WrestleMania XX in 2004, where Goldberg emerged as victor.

Not everyone is too keen on the match up, however, including two-time Hall of Famer Ric Flair, Forbes reported.

"Not that Bill's fragile by any means, but when you've been away that long, your body hasn't been in the ring,"Flair said during his podcast. "That's why I say all the time, 'time off is a wrestler's worst enemy'."

"And he [has] been off a long time and to jump in there against Brock who is in peak condition all the time, because of his dual roles, either MMA or professional wrestling, he stays in top shape and I don't know that Bill has." Flair added.
