Our comparison report of the Microsoft Surface Book i7 and the Surface Pro 4 devices has suggested the brewing competition between the two devices from the same technology giant. Our report is intended to pit the two against each other and compare their specs in order to help you choose the better option.

The recently launched Microsoft Surface Book i7 sports a metallic chassis with a detachable keyboard option and is touted to be the heaviest of all the Microsoft devices with 1647g. On the other hand, the Surface Pro 4 features a magnesium chassis with ultra-thin keyboard and weighs around 786g.

In terms of display, the Surface Book i7 sports a 13.5-inch screen, PixelSense display, and 3000 x 2000 pixels resolution panel with an aspect ratio of 3:2. Also, its display is touted to be more detailed and sharper as compared to the Surface Pro 4 which features a 12.3-inch screen with a resolution of 2736 x 1824 pixels.

When it comes to the performance-related hardware specs, the Surface Book i7 sports a Core i7 chipset along with 8GB of RAM and internal storage option of 256 GB. On the other hand, the Surface Pro 4 device is powered by an Intel Core M3 chipset and comes with a 4 GB RAM and internal storage of 128 GB.

Furthermore, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 consists of a USB 3.0 port, with Mini DisplayPort and microSD card reader. On the other hand, the Surface Book i7 sports two USB 3.0 ports and Mini DisplayPort and full-size SD card reader. Lastly, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is priced for $940 whereas the Surface Book i7 costs for around $2399 for the base model and is expected to be made available in mid-November.

To sum up, the latest Surface Book i7 is touted to be the most promising device from the technology giant compared to the Surface Pro 4. However, choosing a device will totally depend on your specs requirements and allocated budget.
