Following the return of "Space Jam" on the big screen for a limited time in honor of the film's 20th anniversary, rumors about a sequel surfaced on the web.

It was said that avid fans of "Space Jam 2" don't have to wait much longer as the movie will premiere soon. Warner Bros. is reportedly working on a new sequel. This has still to be verified.

In addition, other reports claimed that Cleveland Cavaliers superstar, Lebron James has been cast in the main role despite Michael Jordan's own pronouncements that Los Angeles Clippers standout Blake Griffin would be a better star of the new film.

However, Joe Pytka, the film's original director has reportedly called the new sequel a "doomed" since no one could ever equal to the '90s roster of Monstars.

Some reports also stated that "Space Jam 2" would be better than the original especially that the NBA stars nowadays are more into social media and enthusiastically marketing their brands.

Meanwhile, Lebron James, who has been continuously compared to Michael Jordan, ranked fourth for his "Trainwreck" on the "Best Big-Screen Performance by a Sports Star" survey. The list was determined by the latest poll made by Fandango with more than 1,000 people voting.

Though, Michael Jordan came out on top for "Space Jam," many believed that this will change after Lebron will appear on "Space Jam 2."With this latest survey, it cannot be denied that a lot of 90s kids still has a big love for Space Jam. It is not surprising anymore that Jordan won the battle.

Space Jam, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter, "earned $230.4 million worldwide at the box office, with the film teaming up Jordan with classic Looney Tunes characters against the villainous Monstars. It first heat theaters on Nov. 15, 1996. Other NBA talent from the era also appeared, including Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing."

"Space Jam 2" is rumored to star Lebron James and to be directed by Justin Lin.
