Edinburgh, Scotland-based video game developing company Rockstar North is expected to release more details on its upcoming project, the highly anticipated “Grand Theft Auto 5” (GTA 5) in the coming months. The new game will be the first major title in the GTA series since the release of GTA 4 in 2008.
“GTA 5” will be set in the fictional city of Los Santos in the state of San Andreas and its surrounding areas. In short, the game is mostly based in modern-day Los Angeles and Southern California. Despite numerous speculations on internet surrounding the game specified that the “Grand Theft Auto 5” was to be released by the end of 2011, it never happened.
However, later in October 2011, Rockstar Games made an announcement about the existence and development of “Grand Theft Auto 5” via a tweet (the tweet included the #GTAV hash tag and a link to the game's homepage, and displayed the game's logo).
The company also put a “GTA 5” trailer countdown on their homepage which helped Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive’s shares go up by seven percent.
According to Strauss Zelnick, “looking ahead, Take-Two has the strongest development pipeline in the company's history. At the cornerstone of our stellar line-up is the recently announced next installment of Rockstar Games' iconic franchise that has sold-in more than 114 million units - Grand Theft Auto V.”
He adds, “The creative team at Rockstar Games continues to set benchmarks for excellence with every new release and we're confident that consumers' enthusiasm will be rewarded with a breathtaking entertainment experience that can only be provided by Grand Theft Auto.”
Rockstar, finally, released the debut trailer for “GTA 5” in November 2011, and ended all speculations about how the game will look. The trailer revealed the Los Santos setting, a glimpse of "Vinewood" (Hollywood) and its rural hills and other areas.
The Official Trialer: The new game’s trailer actually revealed a bit about the nature of the game and what the fans can expect in the coming months. It is believed that “Grand Theft Auto 5” could be set in the present day and depict the current recession situation of the area.
The trailer has shown several screenshots of people begging for money on the street, sleeping in tents next to an underpass, and even of houses on sale. Previous rumors had indicated that GTA 5 would support multiple playable characters and will be played across three central characters.
Although it is still to be found as to who the central characters in the game are, it is being said that the man looking out across the city about halfway through the trailer is one of the main characters and will hold considerable importance.
System Requirements: It is highly believed that the game will ask for a requirement of around 20 GB of space. However, this will depend on the textures, maps, audio/radio, etc. The game, although it may not be much different as compared to “GTA 4,” may also require slightly higher system requirements.
Here are the system requirements for PC gamers.
Expected Requirements:
Operating System: Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 3 GHz or similar
RAM: 3 GB
HDD: 20 GB free disk space

It is to be noted that the official requirements for the game are yet to be revealed by Rockstar. The game is also available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Date of Release: Although nothing can be said about the release date of the game as of now, a previous report by techlabs.com stated that the game could arrive in May this year. They justified their assumption by watching the video very closely. If you watch the trailer carefully at 0.55, you will see a man posting a "For Sale" sign and the number 2405 printed on the pane. The number 2405 could be interpreted as May 24, which could be the game's release date. However, nothing can be said at the moment.
