It has been around 4 months since the manga's 360th chapter, leaving the anime series hanging. There are new rumors regarding its continuation as fans are getting impatient on waiting for new "Hunter x Hunter" content.

There is not much official news since the launch of the its newest smartphone game, but recent rumors of continuing the story by means of a new author is circulating around the Internet. It has also been speculated that the show's producers are getting desperate in continuing "Hunter x Hunter" by replacing series creator Yoshishiro Togashi with "Tokyo Ghoul" author Sui Ishida, because of speculations of Togashi no longer be able to return as the manga's artist.

Togashi "was also forced to give up his rights to the franchise," after sources report that the manga's editors had gone interested with Ishida's version of Hisoka, according to Chatt Sports Net. Ishida once mentioned that he admires Togashi and Hisoka, and allowed him to draw his own colored version of the character.

The author's wife, Naoko Takeuchi, is also being considered a possible addition to the manga team. Takeuchi is also an award-winning manga artist herself, as the creator of the "Sailor Moon" universe. A source also mentioned that Takeuchi may have started working on the next chapter's script.

"Hunter x Hunter" creator Togashi was once reported to be of failing health and rumored to be bedridden as his back pain had worsened, but the author has been recently spotted at a party, causing criticisms from short-tempered fans.

A highly successful franchise, "Hunter X Hunter" has sold over 60 million copies of the manga in Japan alone, and has since spawned two anime adaptation runs totaling 210 episodes, 30 OVAs, and three animated feature films.

Stay tuned for more updates regarding the next "Hunter x Hunter" chapter, and the series' fate.
