Galaxy S3 is the fastest-selling pre-order phone of the year, reported The Telegraph UK, citing Carphone Warehouse, a retailer of Samsung phones.

Graham Stapleton, Chief Commercial Officer at Carphone Warehouse, reported to The Telegraph, "Pre-order demand for the new Galaxy S3 has surpassed expectations since the handset was first unveiled two weeks ago. The first 24 hours alone saw thousands placing their pre-order at Carphone Warehouse."

"The Galaxy S3 is without a doubt the fastest selling pre-order of 2012 so far. We're gearing up for an exceptionally busy launch day at the end of the month as the handset lands on shelves at our stores across the UK," Stapleton further added.

Last week, reports indicated that the latest Samsung smartphone has generated a whopping 9 million pre-orders from more than 100 global carriers. The Korea Economic Daily on Friday reported that Samsung currently is running at full capacity and producing 5 million Galaxy S3 units every month, but the company anticipates that with the kind of response that the latest Galaxy phone has generated, two months' production will be exhausted in no time.

Galaxy S3, which has generated lots of buzz much before its launch has still maintained the same enthusiasm among the smartphone lovers even after the Korean electronics giant made official announcement of the phone. Now that the latest Galaxy phone is expected to release in a week (on May 29), anticipation surrounding the phone has reached a new height. Why this sensation? Check out the five features of Galaxy S3 that according to us, are the best and do most to make it the best smartphone of our time.

1.      Display: A whooping 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD screen that gives true, perfect color with ultrafast response time.

2.       Processor: Samsung unveiled its 1.4GHz Exynos 4 Quad processor few weeks back and the new processor has been featured along with ARM Cortex A9 in the "next Galaxy phone." The company also announced that it would use quad core processor only with devices launching in Europe and Korea. While the European version will run on 3G, the same device will run on LTE in Korea. But for the US market, the company will launch only dual core (not the quad core) Qualcomm processor. The Japanese version of the phone is expected to come with 2GB RAM while other global versions will have 1GB RAM.

3.       A Monster battery: Samsung has provided a monstrous 2100mAh removable battery.
