Rare White Microsoft Band 2 Not For Sale? Microsoft To Finally Kills Off Band Series?
Kirsten KaneA rare white version of the Microsoft Band which was worn by Microsoft Corporate Vice President Panos Panay back in June 2016 was once suspected to be the highly anticipated wearable, Microsoft Band 3. However, some reports claimed that it is just another version of the Band 2 which was exclusive for Microsoft employees only.
According to Mspoweruser, "the device is functionally identical to the Black Band 2 except for being gold where it is silver and white where it is normally black, but still cuts a very nice figure."
The Microsoft Band 2 is said to be one of the best fitness watches sporting a lot of sensors including a built-in GPS which allows user to go for a run without having to bring phone for tracking purposes; a barometer for measuring height or altitude; a heart rate monitor, UV light exposure and many more attractive features. In addition, it is curved making it more comfortable to use than its predecessor.
However, the Band 2 has already been discontinued by the company and removed it from the market which made fans think that a new wearable might be created while others believed that Microsoft will completely kill its Band lineup.
In a statement released by Microsoft as reported by The Verge, that the company reveals that it is still "deeply committed to supporting customers and exploring the wearables space."
However, a report by Techradar states that the Microsoft has "no plans to release another Band device this year."
According to Wearable, Microsoft might have ended their "Band Series."
"At this point we get the feeling Microsoft has halted the Band series, given the Band team appear to have dispersed into other projects. The leaker of these new shots doesn't give anything away, but theorises that Microsoft has indeed called it a day, or that some of these ideas may one day resurface in another wearable."
Fans are still hopeful that the Microsoft will offer new fitness wearable soon and will make rare white Band 2 also available in the market. The company is yet to comment on this.
