'The Vampire Diaries' Season 8 Cast Nina Dobrev And Ian Somerhalder Getting Awkward In The Set? Chemistry Not As Good Because Of Nikki Reed?
Kirsten KaneNina Dobrev's comeback in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 is still uncertain, but fans of the series are still hopeful for her return even though previous reports suggested that the actress will no longer reprise her role because of Nikki Reed's appearance in the season's finale.
However, earlier speculations also stated that Dobrev is set to return as Katherine Pierce in the show and she might be the one to kill Stefan (Paul Wesley) or Damon (Ian Somerhalder). This was further fuelled when Georgie's soul in the fourth episode gets sucked in the dark which is similar to what had happened to Katherine in Season 5.
The said rumor continues as the showrunner, Julie Plec said in an interview that "the visual similarities are not accidental."
"The big question is: How do our characters fit in this world? Are they all doomed? Is there a chance for redemption? Can you earn your way back out of a one-way ticket to Hell? And even characters that have been heroes, are they already marked? If so, what the hell are they going to do about it?" she further said.
Lately, reports suggest that Dobrev will have a grand entrance in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, Episode 12.
It was said that the filming already started and Dobrev together with Damon had an awkward moment in the set making it hard for Plec to reunite the two in the series because they lacked good chemistry. This is yet to be verified.
Rumors are rife that Nikki Reed is always seen in the set which makes Dobrev feel uncomfortable.
Meanwhile, it can be recalled that Plec would try her very best to bring Dobrev back for the last time.
"Obviously, things can change throughout time, if the show goes on longer than we expect it to, or if we all collectively decide it would be fun to bring her back earlier, and she wanted to. But in my opinion, she was very clear about what she wanted the next step in her life to be, and she's doing a great job of achieving that. So I'm sticking with my side of the plan, which is to bring her back at the very end."
However, it seems like Dobrev once said that she is not willing to return after leaving the show.
"I had decided years before that I'd go the run of my contract and I wouldn't extend, but it was a surprise for everyone else that didn't know that. I always knew that I'd signed up for a certain amount of time and I fulfilled it. I had a great experience, but everything has to come to an end and this was my time. It's like high school, you do four years and then you move onto the college."
"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 is set to return on December 9, and Nina Dobrev is yet to give her official statement regarding the recent rumors.
