George R.R Martin's "Winds of Winters" has long been anticipated by fans and after a long time of waiting, the writer has finally given an update about the sixth instalment of the "Song of Ice and Fire" book series.

Previously, it was reported that the much awaited novel may be cancelled since it was said that the author has lost the manuscript while other reports suggested that it might come out on 2018.

In a recent interview with George R.R. Martin, he gave a hint of what everyone could expect in "The Winds of Winters." He revealed that the book will feature dark chapters and this might mean death of some of the favorite or major character.

"There are a lot of dark chapters right now in the book that I'm writing," Martin said. "It is called The Winds of Winter, and I've been telling you for 20 years that winter was coming. "

He continued, "winter is the time when things die, and cold and ice and darkness fill the world, so this is not going to be the happy feel-good that people may be hoping for. Some of the characters [are] in very dark places."

"In any story, the classic structure is, 'Things get worse before they get better,' so things are getting worse for a lot of people," he added.

So for those who think of a fairytale storyline, you might as well change your mind as the book might not have the usual happy ending.

Following the interview of Martin, many believed that the book is about to finish or is already finished and that it will hit the shelves anytime soon or in March next year. Some speculated that it will be released on April 2017.

Meanwhile, rumors are rife that Varys and Littlefinger bloody battle might be included in the highly anticipated novel. It has been said that Vary will win as he has more knowledge about Eunuchs.

In addition, Martin talked shortly about the seventh instalment entitled "A Dream of Spring" of his "A Song of Ice and Fire" series in the same interview.

"I'm not going to tell you how I'm going to end my book, but I suspect the overall flavor is going to be as much bittersweet as it is happy."

George R.R Martins has not yet released an official release date of his long overdue book,"The Winds of Winter," however, it is expected to come out very soon.
