Smartphone users eagerly await the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update. The question is, which devices are getting it?

The smartphone giants are waiting for their devices to get Android's latest version update the 7.0 Nougat. These top companies include Samsung, Sony, HTC, Huawei, ZTE, Google with its new Google Pixel devices and Motorola and One Plus, reports MobiPicker.

Samsung. The Samsung S7 and S7 Edge, Samsung's flagships, received Android 7.0 Nougat update last November 9. A leaked screenshot with the Samsung Galaxy Beta Program confirmed that Nougat update will go straight to 7.1.1 on Samsung's other bigwigs namely the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and the Note 5.

HTC and LG.  The Android Nougat 7.0 update will be available late December for HTC 10, One M9 and A9 but with not much time left, users can only wait patiently for this. However, LG has already joined the Nougat family when an Android Nougat ready device was launched last September.

Huawei. This rising Chinese giant is in the process of updating their most significant devices in early 2017. Huawei confirmed that the P9 and Mate 8 will be receiving the latest Android update in early 2017. Right now, the only Huawei device with the Android 7.0 Nougat is the Huawei Mate 9.

They went on later to announce that an update for the P9 Plus, Nova, Nova Plus and P9 Lite would be available after they were done updating their most recent models. There was no news on the updates in reference to their older models such as the P9 or Mate S.

Motorola.  The company declared the updates on Moto G and Moto Z smartphones to Android 7.0 Nougat for the fourth quarter of this year. They are expecting to receive the update before Christmas. Popular models like the Moto X (2nd Gen), Moto X (3rd Gen), Moto G3, Moto E3 and Moto E3 Power is unclear whether these devices will ever receive the update.

Google Pixel. The Google Pixel is good to go with the pre-installed Android 7.0 Nougat on its device. The most recent software is available for downloading on the Nexus series devices and Google Pixel C.
