Looks like Pokemon Go players are in for a treat as Niantic Labs just added a fresh batch of Pokemon to the hit augmented reality mobile game, aside from some festive touches for Christmas.

The recently rolled out Pokemon Go update showcases a bevy of new critters including Magby, Togepi, Pichu, and Pikachu sporting a never-before-seen festive makeover. Still, players will have to hatch baby Pokemon before they can be added to the Pokedex. Thankfully, the internet is brimming with Pokemon Go tips and tricks to cash in on the game's Christmas event.

Players must bear in mind that the Gen 2 Pokemon set will specifically be hatched from eggs that they acquired after Dec. 12, when Niantic Labs released the update.

Everything Remains The Same About Getting New Eggs

Pokemon Go tips suggest that the process of getting new eggs has not changed with the latest update. All you need to do is visit a nearby PokeStop and spin for freebies. It is worth noting that every spin will not give you eggs.

Hatching Gen 2 Pokemon

As soon as you get an egg, place it into incubators and go for a long walk; this will hatch different types of Gen 2 Pokemon, according to a report from GameNGuide.

The Most Sought-After Pokemon Go Creature At The Moment

The latest Pokemon Go update bears a nifty new start-up screen --- featuring Squirtle, Clefairy, and a Snorlax. There's also a Santa hat-wearing Pikachu that is capable of turning fairy lights on with the help of his electric powers, Mirror reported.

Evolve Holiday Pikachu Into Raichu

According to the latest Pokemon Go tips, you need to give Pikachu some candies (ideally 50). With 50 candies, you can get a Raichu who will don the same Holiday hat that the revamped Pikachu is flaunting in style.

Moreover, if you manage to capture a Pikachu and a Raichu during the holiday season, Niantic will allow you to keep both creatures with their Christmas hats even after Dec. 29.
