Nintendo Switch Is Destined To Disappoint With Outdated Tegra X1 SoC, Switch Specs And Release Date

Nintendo Switch To Be Equipped With The Outdated Tegra X1 SoC

Nintendo is set to release its newest game console the Nintendo Switch on March of 2017 and, from the look of things, video game players are set for a big disappointment.

Nintendo has been said to have waved the flag of surrender years ago on the race for the best performing game consoles in the market. The introduction of Nintendo Switch is no different to its previews game consoles as it did not even put up a fight in terms of performance against other top video game consoles, PS4 and XBOX.

The only saving grace of the Nintendo Switch is that Nintendo still has a number of video games under its wings that have stable fan bases. Time will tell if the powers of Mario and Link from Zelda are enough to attract video game players to Switch.

Nintendo Switch Specs

The Nintendo Switch is a hybrid between a game console and a tablet which is said to have been developed to lure video game players who are fund of playing games on their mobile devices. However, this plan seem to be destined for failure as the new game console had to sacrifice a lot in terms of performance to achieve its hybrid form.

The new Nintendo video game console will be powered by Nvidia Tegra X1 SoC and not the rumored Tegra X2 Parker SoC. The use of the older Nvidia will mean that the Nintendo game console will not be able to tap the improvements in performance that was introduced in the Tegra X2 Parker SoC.

The Nintendo Switch specs will certainly not challenge the muscled-up graphics of Ps4 and Xbox One. However, the Switch is still an upgrade to its predecessor, the Nintendo Wii.

The Switch is rumored to pack more power when docked compared to when it is use as a handheld gaming device. With the Tegra GPU, Switch is said to clock 768 MHz which more than doubles the 307.2 MHz performance of the Switch when undocked.
