E3 2012 - Splinter Cell: Blacklist Demoed By Ubisoft, Looks Sharp

Vamien McKalin

Fans of Splinter Cell are going to explode into tiny little pieces when they find out Ubisoft has announced a new game in the franchise called Splinter Cell Black List, and from what we have seen, the game is gearing up to be one of the hottest games in 2013. Unlike previous Splinter Cell games, Blacklist is looking to be fluid and action-orientated, and we're not going to be angry about that one bit.

The demo showed at the Microsoft E3 2012 press conference showed how smooth Sam Fisher is able to move and kill his enemies, something we don't see very much in action games. What's good is the ability to take advantage of Kinect. Take it from us, it works wonderfully. The ability to distract enemies and call in an airstrike with Kinect pushes Splinter Cell Blacklist to a completely new level, and this could make it the best game in the franchise if Ubisoft sticks to its guns and deliver on everything the company demoed at E3

The game's story centers around a group of terrorist organization who have grown tired of the United States military presence in their country, so this group formulates a plan called "Blacklist," which is to attack various important United Assets all over the world.

Michael Ironside will no longer be the voice actor of Sam Fisher. Instead in his place we have Eric Johnson who will also be lending his body for motion capture purposes.

Splinter Cell Blacklist is expected to hit the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 in 2013. No word yet on a possible Wii U version.
