If you own iPhone 4S and want to switch to Samsung Galaxy S3 due to its rugged ability as it packs Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection, then this test is especially conducted for you.
Folks at SquareTrade performed three kinds of drop tests on Samsung's latest flagship model. The tests include dropping of Galaxy S3 along with iPhone 4S on a cement ground. In the first test, Galaxy S3 and iPhone 4S get a free-fall from the ear level and in second test, the devices get exposed to careless handling in hands of children and get a rigorous toss. And finally, each smartphone is left unattended on the top of a speeding vehicle.
After the first test, Galaxy S3 got a big crack on the display, while iPhone 4S had just a few scrapes at a side. In second test, iPhone 4S' back was badly damaged. Thanks to plastic casing, the Galaxy S3 was able to survive the second test with minor damages. In the final test, Samsung Galaxy S3 was seriously destroyed. On the other hand, injuries did not look so serious on iPhone 4S.
Along with Samsung Galaxy S3, Apple iPhone 4S is also subjected to mishandling torture. After viewing the video, it is concluded that the Galaxy S3 is not as tough as it was believed to be. As compared with iPhone 4S, it sustained considerable damage especially to its HD screen protected by second generation Corning Gorilla glass, which was believed to deliver superior protection. Compiling the final scores, Galaxy S3 was outshined by iPhone 4S in 2 of 3 tests
Not a long time ago, folks at Android Authority also conducted an identical test and found out that Apple iPhone 4S can withstand more torture than Samsung Galaxy S3.
Check in the video below to view the test.
