"Trollhunters" irector Gullermo del Toro is pumped upon the release of the family-oriented animated series based on the book he co-authored with Daniel Kraus. "Trollhunters" premiering today on Netflix and it promises to be a series of family, fun and relationships - the entire animated series covers a whopping 26 episodes!

"Trollhunters" pale in comparison from Guillermo del Toro's various outings - from fantasy, gothic horror and high-thrill action, he is now directing a family-friendly animated series. "Trollhunters" follows the story of an average teenager, Jim Lake Jr., who will then become a hero in this fantastic animated series plot. Jim found an amulet that gives him the right to be the Trollhunter, protector of trolls from huge evil trolls like Bular, played by Ron Perlman.

Jim's sidekick in the movie is played by Charlie Saxton, Toby, who gets a lot of fat jokes - and Blinky, a multiple-eyed troll played by Kelsey Grammer. With established actors dubbing for the series, the show is expected to captivate a lot of viewers around the world.

One of the established actors tapped for the series is Anton Yelchin, who passed away last June. This is one of Yelchin's last projects. According to Yahoo!, Del Toro chose not to replace Yelchin's voice in the recordings, he said: "We need to keep him. He is an excellent guy and was fun to work with. I, we are proud of his accomplishments."

Aside from Yelchin, the all-star cast includes Frasier alum Kelsey Grammer, Ron Perlman and Amy Landecker. "Trollhunters" is already available on Netflix today! Watch the show's promotional teaser here:
