TLYT has announced it new brand of the same name along with a portable car charger called "BAND." The charger's form factor resembles a HDMI cable in its simplicity, but TLYT ensures that the speed of charging is not compromised.

TLYT said in the press release BAND uses a silicon unibody design that will "juice-up two of your devices twice as fast as your old tangled-up car charger." BAND also uses 2.1 amps which allow for "super-fast charging of any tablet or two smartphones simultaneously," so it seems like only one tablet can be charged at any time.

BAND supports Apple 30-pin charger connectors or Micro-USB connectors, a universal USB port, and a "flat ribbon cable" which is a non-tangle cable measuring two feet and is a 1/10 of an inch in thickness. The output voltage is 5 volts.

BAND and other mobile accessories debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show during January 2012 in Las Vegas and BAND products will be showcased at CEA Line Shows in New York City during June 2012.

"Consumers are weary of low grade, slow charging accessories and tangle wires detracting from their techno-bliss, from their personal style and from the cache of their device. Performance is a must, but cool still rules. If it's in your car or on your person it shouldn't look cheap, perform poorly or be a complete nuisance," Kannan Macrae - Director of Product Development and Marketing at TYLT - said in the press release.

BAND is available now for $39.99 at "specific retailers" and from TYLT.com. Included with BAND is a 1 year limited warranty.

TLYT also offers PowerPlant, a portable battery pack, and Y-Charge, a dual USB car charger. Cush and Lenz iPhone cases are also available: Cush combines Apple's bump design with a back panel resembling a more traditional case, which is removable.

Signing up on the TYLT Web site allows users to be notified of when the product becomes available, which is listed as "coming soon" on TYLT.com despite the press release saying the product is "for immediate release."
